Georgia State's encore football season kicks off on Friday Night Sept. 2 under the bright lights of the Georgia Dome.

Bill Curry's Panthers will kick off at 7:30 against the cross town Clark Atlanta Panthers on 09-02.

NCAA.com has selected Georgia State for its "Five Games in Five Days" national feature from Sept. 1-5 to kick off the college football season.

Turner Sports produces these for NCAA.com and will take a look behind the scenes of the games, do interviews, update during the games, and give a unique feel to college football. They will publish videos multiple times a day to showcase their trip and one large video at the end of each day.

"Georgia State was a perfect fit for this," said producer Kyle Payne. "The uniqueness of playing on a Friday Night, playing in the Dome, paired with Coach Bill Curry and what he means to college football will make the story solid. This was an easy pick for a game for us."

The "Five Games in Five Days" begins in Mobile with South Alabama's opener, then moves on to Atlanta for Georgia State's opener. On Saturday, the cameras head to Charlotte for the East Carolina vs. South Carolina game. On Sunday, it is a battle of West Virginia between Marshall and WVU in Morgantown. The trip finishes on Monday in College Park, Md., with Miami at Maryland.

ESPN's national Road Trip Show will be at Friday's game focusing on the GSU game and the big weekend of games in Atlanta at the same site (Falcons, GSU, Chick-fil-A). That show with hosts Jonathan Drubner and Jenn Brown airs on Saturday morning's College GameDay with Home Depot Show.

For the season opener on 09-02, the PantherZone tailgate area has been moved to the Brown Lot. The PantherZone is the designated area for games, contests, entertainment and game day giveaways as part of the tailgating. The Orange Lot remains a headquarters for alumni and other tailgating activities. Come early and join the tailgate fun.
