15 Days To Kickoff: Homecoming Game Is October 22
Georgia State's encore football season kicks off on Friday night Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m. under the bright lights of the Georgia Dome.
For GSU alums who might be able to make only one game this year, the big Homecoming Game will be Saturday, Oct. 22. Kickoff will be at 3 p.m. to allow for ample tailgate parties and activities. The opponent, which doesn't really matter in the Homecoming plans, is South Alabama.
Tailgating starts early outside the Dome. The PantherZone tailgate area has been moved to the Brown Lot. The PantherZone is the designated area for games, contests, entertainment and game day giveaways as part of the tailgating.
The Orange Lot beside the Dome remains a headquarters for alumni and other tailgating activities. The SGA will have a Homecoming Tailgate Party there. The Alumni Association will have a Tailgate Party there. Come early and join the tailgate fun and talk about how much GSU has changed for the good.
During the game, Distinguished Alumni Award winners will be recognized. The Homecoming Court will be introduced. The GSU Marching Band will be participating in the outdoor tailgating, the pre-game show and the half-time show. Learn the new Fight Song and join in with the singing of the Alma Mater.
