4 Days To Kickoff: FREE SHUTTLES; JOIN THE PANTHER WALK
Georgia State's encore football season kicks off on Friday Night Sept. 2 under the bright lights of the Georgia Dome.
Bill Curry's Panthers will kick off at 7:30 against the cross town Clark Atlanta Panthers on 09-02.
Free Panther shuttle buses run to the Georgia Dome for students. The buses load at the Panthers Den (75 Piedmont Avenue, a half block from the Commons) and at the Sports Arena (Collins Street corner) and begin running the loop three hours prior to the game. Buses drop off and pick up by the Silver Lot near Gate A (the student entrance) at the Dome. Buses continue running post-game for at least an hour after the game to ensure all students get back to campus.
The Panther Walk when the entire GSU football team arrives at the Dome takes place at 5:30 p.m., two hours before kickoff. The Panther band and Spirit teams are there, along with fans as the players leave the buses and walk through the six-foot wide path of band and fans and into the Gate E doors at the Dome. Gate E is on the opposite side of the Dome from the tailgate parking lots, but an easy walk around the side of the Dome and down the steps.
For the season opener on 09-02, the PantherZone tailgate area has been moved to the Brown Lot. The PantherZone is the designated area for games, contests, entertainment and game day giveaways as part of the tailgating. The Orange Lot remains a headquarters for alumni and other tailgating activities. Come early and join the tailgate fun.
