UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Georgia State women's track and field team competed at the Penn State National this weekend against elite competition and came away with improved results across the board as the Panthers put together nine season bests and one career best at the two-day meet.
DAY TWO
Junior Brandy Swann had a strong performance in the 500-meter seeded run, placing third in a season-best time of 1:13.82.
Sophomore Angelia Nugent turned in a career best in the triple jump, leaping 12.24m (40-02.00) to finish in a tie for sixth. Nugent also placed 12th in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 56.85.
In the 500m run, a pair of Panthers earned season bests as Leah Norman (1:20.25) and Danielle Hill (1:20.88) crossed the finish line together.
Senior Danyel Mitchell also notched a season best in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.81, besting her previous season best by almost five seconds.
Georgia transfer Shaquita Young showcased her ability in the high jump in her first meet as a Panther, leaping 1.65m (5-05.00), to place 10th.

DAY ONE
Highlighting day one at the Penn State National were a pair of season bests by junior Kacee Houle (5,000m) and senior Yolanda Berryhill (weight throw) and a 10th-place finish in the 5,000m by freshman Anna Sinclair.
Sinclair placed 10th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:55.59, while Houle turned in a season-best time of 18:50.21.
Berryhill threw a season best in the weight throw, hurling the 20-lb. weight 14.54 meters (47-8.50 ft.).
