Eight Panthers Set Personal Bests at Weekend Meets

The Georgia State Track and Field team competed at the Georgia Tech Invite and the USC Open April 21 – 22. The weekend meets were highlighted by eight Panthers setting new personal bests.

All four Panthers who competed in the 100m set new personal bests. Ashanti Tigner placed tenth with a time of 11.80, the Panthers' best finish in the event.

Blake Blakemore led the way for the Panthers in the 200m, placing eleventh and setting a new personal best of 24.06.

The Panthers' best finish over the weekend came in the 4x100m, which finished fourth overall. Chelsea Tate, Jada McBean, Ashanti Tigner, and Camarii Tellis have consistently had strong outings as quartet, this time running 45.36.

The Panthers will compete in one final regular season meet, the East Coast Relays, April 28 – 29 in Jacksonville, Fla. The team will then look to the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championship set to take place May 11 – May 13 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
