Panthers Hit the Road for Second Weekend of Conference Play

ATLANTA- The Georgia State women's tennis team will return to action this weekend traveling to Alabama for matches against conference opponents Troy and South Alabama. Currently 9-4 on the season, the Panthers will look to extend a four match winning streak entering the team's second weekend of Sun Belt play.

GSU has benefited greatly from the leadership of first-year head coach Hannah Keeling. Accounting for just two wins a season prior, the Panthers have seen an impressive turnaround while posting victories in nine of 10 matches and positioning themselves to compete for a conference title.

GSU sits at second place in the Sun Belt and is 2-0 in conference play coming off strong wins last weekend over Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina. The Panthers dropped first sets in five of six court positions while facing Coastal Carolina before rallying for wins on three courts to secure the victory. Angel Carney clinched the match point for the team with a tenth consecutive win in three sets at the No. 5 court position.

This weekend's slate of competition will offer the Panthers another opportunity to build on the team's success thus far in the spring.

GSU will face Troy on Saturday, March 19 at Lunsford Tennis Complex in Troy, Ala. The Panthers will have a quick turnaround facing South Alabama on Sunday, March 20 at Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts in Mobile, Ala. Both match times are set for 10 a.m. ET.

More information on live scoring will be posted to the team's social media accounts and on the web leading up to the matches. Follow Georgia State women's tennis on Twitter (@GSUWTennis) and Instagram (@GSUWomensTennis) for news and updates throughout the season.
