Women's Tennis Falls to Louisiana Tech on Senior Day

ATLANTA, GA – Georgia State Women's Tennis played host to non-conference opponent Louisiana Tech in their Senior Day match on Saturday morning, battling the Bulldogs before falling by a final score of 4-1.

Having dealt with injuries across their last three matches, the Panthers were able to fill all three doubles courts for the first time since March 21. Louisiana Tech would capture the doubles point with decisive wins on courts one and two.

With Zeynep Erbakan reaggravating an existing injury in her doubles match, the Panthers began singles play with just five players and a 2-0 deficit due to forfeit. Sara Radojevic put Georgia State on the board with a straight set victory on court two. She took a tightly contested 6-4 win in set one before trouncing her counterpart by a score of 6-1 to win the court. Despite Maria Paredes and Mia Petrovic pushing their respective second sets to a seventh point, the Bulldogs were able to capture victories on courts one and six for the overall win.

After the match, the Panthers honored Paredes as their lone graduating senior. Paredes — the Panthers' top line singles starter since her freshman year — leaves the program as one of its most accomplished players, seeing All-Sun Belt selections in 2024 and 2025.
