ATLANTA, GA – Georgia State Women's Tennis jumped out to an early lead on Sunday afternoon, taking the doubles point from their opponents from Appalachian State before eventually falling by a score of 4-1.
After dropping doubles court three to the Mountaineers, the Panthers needed to take both courts one and two to capture the opening point.
Maria Paredes and
Zeynep Erbakan took a thrilling 6-5 victory on court one to put the point in the hands of the second line pairs.
Sveva Bernardi and
Sara Radojevic were able to outlast their counterparts, taking the deciding court by a final score of 6-4.
Bouncing back from the defeat in doubles play, the Mountaineers were able to take courts one, two, four, and six to complete the comeback victory.
The Panthers will await their seeding in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament, beginning on Wednesday, April 22.
