ATLANTA, GA- The Georgia State Panthers has set their 2024 season schedule, Head Coach Brett Surrency announced.

The Panthers enter their third season in the powerhouse Sun Belt Conference, which saw three different teams ranked #1 in the country last season. The conference includes UCF, Marshall and West Virginia, who all spent time with the top ranking last season. A record five teams from the Sun Belt made the NCAA tournament, with Marshall being the number one overall seed, marking the second straight season the overall one-seed has come from the Sun Belt. The Panthers hope to improve on their tie for sixth finish in the conference last year. 

Under 15th-year head coach Brett Surrency, the Panthers will open the 2024 regular season on August 22nd at home against Belmont before hitting the road to Birmingham, Alabama and taking on UAB on August 27th.

The Panthers' home games are not to be missed, with major showdowns against Memphis (Sept. 8), Coastal Carolina (Sept. 21), South Carolina (Oct. 11) and the defending conference champions Marshall on Oct. 27. The season will culminate with a final home game against Kentucky on Nov. 5. 

Crucial road matches include UCF (Sept. 27), Georgia Southern (Oct. 18), and West Virginia (Oct. 23).

Top returnees from last year's squad include midfielder Justin McLean, who led the team with five assists during the season, Josue Hangi, who started every game in goal for the Panthers last season, and defender Hideto Gondo, who also led the team with five assists while starting all 18 games last season.
