ATLANTA – After securing two wins on the road last week to remain undefeated, the Panthers return home to Atlanta, Ga. to host Mercer this Wednesday, September 9^th at 7:00 p.m.  
 SERIES HISTORY 
Georgia State will be facing the Bears for the 21^st time since 2008. The Panthers hold the series advantage with a 10-6-4 record. They defended their home turf with a record of 5-1-3. The pair last faced off in September 2025 with Mercer shutting out GSU 1-0 in Macon. The Panthers longest run of success occurred from 2017-23 with seven wins and one draw.
 
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Mercer enters Wednesday's match looking to snag their first win after going 0-3-2 on the season, led by Head Coach Brad Ruzzo in his 18^th season. The Bears last played on Friday, September 4^th, holding Belmont to a 1-1 tie.
 
SATURDAY NIGHT SHUTOUT
GSU remains undefeated after recording their second shutout of the season against Presbyterian on Saturday, Sept. 5 in Clinton, S.C.
 
After playing a tight, scoreless first half, Gerber Martinez scored his first goal of the season to put the Panthers on the board in the 49th minute with a dime off of  Sandro Rabarivony.
 
Brandon Graham became a force for the Panthers, scoring two goals in the 64^th and 79^th minute. He was assisted by David Martins-Jorge and  Leo Jaukovic.
 
The Panthers defensive kept the Blue Hose offensive out of scoring position for the remainder of the match.
 
This was the Panthers second straight win of the week after defeating Lipscomb 4-2 on Tuesday evening.

Georgia State is ranked second in the Sun Belt in shutout percentage, and third in total goals.
