Daniel Medellin fired a final-round 68 to lead the Georgia State men's golf team in the Thomas Sharkey Intercollegiate in Statesboro, Ga.
The first spring event for the Panthers featured individuals only in a 54-hole event at the par-72, 6,900-yard Georgia Southern University Golf Course.
Medellin, the junior from Bogota, Colombia, finished in ninth place with a 1-under 215. Nathan Franks of South Carolina won the event at 12-under, four strokes ahead of his teammate Rafe Reynolds.
After shooting 74-73 Saturday, Medellin open Sunday's round with birdies on six of his first eight holes en route to his 68.
Cameron Jackson also shot under par Sunday with a 71, finishing at 10-over.
Tanner Bronnum (+25) and
Blake Farbman (+26) also competed for the Panthers.Â
Georgia State's first team event of the spring will be the Wexford Intercollegiate, hosted by Francis Marion Feb. 17-19 at the Wexford Plantation in Hilton Head, S.C.
