Panthers Finish 11th at Dorado Beach Collegiate

PUERTO RICO – Senior Connor MacMillan and Junior Brody Tidwell led the Panthers through three rounds as Georgia State finished 11th overall at the TPC Dorado Beach Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon.

The Panthers finished with a final score of 868 through three rounds. 

MacMillan and Tidwell both finished with a 3-over par score of 219, Tidwell with (71-76-72) and MacMillan with (71-77-71) to finish tied for 26th overall in the tournament. Tidwell recorded his tournament-best round in the first round with a one-under par 71, including two birdies. He would go on to shoot an eagle in the final round, landing him tied for first in the category. MacMillan recorded a one-under par score both in the first and final round of the tournament. The veteran shot 11 birdies throughout the tournament, landing him tied for tenth in the category. 

Freshman Matthew Calhoun finished second on the Panthers' leader board, finishing tied for 52nd overall with a ten-over par 226 (78-72-76) total score. Calhoun had his best round in the second finishing with an even-par score of 72 that included two birdies. He also shot two birdies in the first and four in the third to finish with a total of eight birdies on the tournament.



TOURNAMENT NOTES:
Archie Cook scored 14-over par 230 (80-77-73), posting his best results in the final round with a one-over par score of 73 that included two birdies. 
Cameron Jackson scored 16-over par 232 (82-73-77). Jackon finished with a total of seven birdies on the tournament. 
 
The Panthers open up March play at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate on March. 2-3, hosted by Stetson in DeLand, Fla.
