DADE CITY, Fl. – Junior
Cameron Jackson led the Panthers through two rounds as Georgia State finished 12
th overall at the Lake Jovita Invitational tournament on Tuesday afternoon.
The Panthers finished 4-over par 868 through three rounds, highlighted by a team-best two-under par in round one.
Jackson finished two-under par 214 (71-74-69) to lead the Panthers and finish 20
th overall in the tournament. He had a tournament-best round in the final round with a three-under par 69, including an eagle and three birdies. The veteran recorded a total of nine birdies through three rounds.
Junior
Brody Tidwell finished second on the Panthers' leader board, finishing tied for 39
th overall with a three-over par 219 (67-78-74) total score. Tidwell had a tremendous first round finishing with a five-under par score of 67 that included five birdies and an eagle. He also shot three birdies in the second and four in the third to finish with a total of 12 birdies on the tournament.
Freshmen
Matthew Calhoun and
Archie Cook both posted a total score of 221, Calhoun with (74-74-73) and Cook with (77-73-71) to finish tied for 46
th overall. Calhoun recorded 13 birdies over the course of the tournament, including seven in the first round. Cook came in two behind Calhoun with 11 birdies, two in the first, six in the second and three in the third.
TOURNAMENT NOTES:
Connor MacMillan scored six-over par 222 (74-74-74). MacMillan finished the tournament with a total of 38 pars resulting in him tying for first in the category.
Cole Finch participated as an individual and scored eight-over par 224 (77-74-73).
The Panthers are back in action on Feb. 22-24 to participate in the TPC Dorado Beach Collegiate, hosted by UNCG in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
