Dean is Panthers' Top Performer at Sun Belt Championship

MADISON, MISS. -- The Georgia State men's golf team finished 11th at the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Championship, played at the Annandale Golf Club.

Mason Dean was Georgia State's top performer in Wednesday's final round of stroke play and for the 54-hole event. The sophomore from Suwaneee, Ga., birdied three of his final seven holes to shoot 73 on the Par-72, 7,190-yard layout. He finished with a 5-over 221 and tied for 22nd place.

Sophomore Jordan Jung shot 74 today to finish tied for 25th at 222 (+6).

The top four finishers in stroke play--Georgia Southern, Southern Alabama, Troy and Louisiana--advanced to Thursday's match play semifinals. Hugo Thyr of South Alabama captured medalist honors with an 8-under 208, including a 66 in the final round.
