ATLANTA, GA-- Senior Simon Carlson received his second consecutive All-Southeast Region honors after being named to the third team by the United Soccer Coaches, announced Tuesday afternoon. This honor is given to the most outstanding players in the Division I level of NCAA Men's Soccer.

The award comes after another stellar season with the Panthers. Carlson led GSU in shots on goal (18) with a .621 percentage, which ranks sixth in the Sun Belt during the 2023 season. The midfielder started in all 18 matches in the 2023 season, tallying the second-most points (13) after shooting six goals and recording one assist. Two of his goals were made in the Panthers' 2-1 victory over Mercer on Oct. 4, 2023.  

Carlson was also selected to the 2023 All-Sun Belt Team and the 2023 Preseason All-Sun Belt Team.  

The Panthers finished the season 6-7-5 overall and 3-4-2 in the Sun Belt.
