Birmingham, Ala. – A school record in the 4x200 relay and multiple personal bests were among the highlights for the Georgia State women's track and field team Friday at the UAB Blazer Invitational.
The 4x200 quartet of
Maleah Heard,
Imani Flanagan,
Chelsea Tate and
Jada McBean ran 1:38.98 for a third-place finish. The Panthers' second team of
Ashanti Tigner, Shai Tobias-Wolffe,
Shadae Worrell, and
Kayli Williams ran 1:41.80.
In field events,
Ronasche Fluker finished second in the triple jump with a made a personal best jump of 12.07m.
Jessica James also placed in the top five in the event with a jump of 11.13m. In the long jump,
Nyah Brown jumped 4.67m for the Panthers.
Sophomore
Kennedy Morris achieved a personal best in the 600m (1:35.86).
Anouk Prop finished fourth with a time of 1:37.12, also a personal best.
In the 60m,
McKenzie Walker ran a personal best (7.85), while
Ashanti Tigner (7.82) and
Maleah Heard (7.88) also competed in the event.
Kayli Williams advanced to finals in the 60m hurdles and placed seventh overall (8.80).
In the mile,
Emma Devis placed eighth with a time of 5:11.63, while
Frankie Muldoon ran a personal best 5:27.84. In the 1000m, Ana Cubillo ran a personal best 3:04.69 to and place sixth overall.
Georgia State's 4x400 relay team,
Keniya Walker,
Camarii Tellis, McKenzie walker and
Jessica James ran 4:15.80.
The Georgia States women's track and field team remains in Birmingham to compete in Saturday's Vulcan Invite.Â
