Jordan Jung's Top 10 Leads Panthers at J.T. Poston Invitational

SAPPHIRE, N.C. – Sophomore Jordan Jung finished tied for ninth as he led the Panthers to a sixth-place finish overall. The Panthers finished with ten birdies in the second nine of the final round at the J.T. Poston Invitational as they will look to continue playing below par at the Georgia State Invitational next week.

Freshman Hunter Smith finished his final round with five birdies which was enough to land a spot in the top 35. Smith followed up a strong performance at the Maui Jim with an impressive finish this week.

Georgia State finished ahead of several top teams in this competitive field including Sun Belt competitors Appalachian State and James Madison. The Panthers recorded an opening round score of 299, a second round of 278 and closed out today with a 293.

"We are proud of the way our players fought hard to the very end for each shot. You can see this through the birdies that were made late in the round. We are excited about getting back on our home course for the Georgia State Invitational next Monday." head coach Chad Wilson said.

Coastal Carolina led the field at 1-under par, while UNCW's Walker Isley led the event at 4 under par.
