Jordan Jung Leads J.T. Poston Invitational, Panthers in Seventh

SAPPHIRE, N.C. – Sophomore Jordan Jung shot an opening round 1-over par 72 and a second round 6-under par 65 to close out the first 36 holes at the J.T. Poston Invitational. Jung's career low and the Panthers lowest score since David Li's 65 in 2019 puts him in first place overall for the tournament heading into the final day.

The Panthers are currently 9-over par and sit in seventh place with 18 more holes to play tomorrow at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley. The team had the lowest second round score in the field and will look to build upon that momentum heading into the last round.

"We had a very disappointing opening round, but the guys fought back and had the lowest second round team score. Super proud of Jordan's effort today and excited to see him go out and compete for that individual title tomorrow." head coach Chad Wilson said.

Coastal Carolina leads the field at 4-under par, while Georgia State's own Jordan Jung leads the event at 5-under par through two rounds.
