Men's Golf Releases Schedule for 2022-2023 Season

ATLANTA – The Georgia State men's golf team faces a formidable 2022-23 schedule under fifth-year head coach Chad Wilson
 
On Sept. 9-11, play will get underway at the Maui Jim Invitational on the Mirabel Golf Club Course in Scottsdale, Ariz. It will be the first of five fall tournaments and ten regular season events leading up to the Sun Belt Conference Championship. The field for the event is challenging but the Panthers are more than up to the challenge. 
  
"It's always the goal to give our players the opportunity to play against the best college golfers each year and I believe we are able to do that with this years' schedule," head coach Chad Wilson said. "Starting off in the desert at one of the premiere events in college golf is always exciting for the guys. 
  
"The Maui Jim will present another stacked field and continue to be an event you must play. Playing championship courses in Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas will allow us to compete against many different teams throughout the nation." 
 
Following the trip to Arizona, the Panthers will travel to Sapphire, N.C., for the J.T. Poston Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley, Sep. 26-27. The Panthers close out the fall with a trip to Jonesborough, Tenn., at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, Oct. 9- Oct.11 and then a short drive down the road to Kennesaw, Ga., Oct. 17-18 for the Pinetree Intercollegiate. 
 
The Panthers' annual home tournament highlights Georgia State's fall season. The Georgia State Invitational at Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, Oct. 3-4, continues to be a top event of the year. The Panthers will be looking to improve on a third place finish from last year. 
 
The spring season gets underway with a trip to the beach as the team plays in the Wexford Intercollegiate at the Wexford Country Club Course, Feb. 19-20 in Hilton Head, S.C. The Panthers will then travel to Opelika, Ala., for the Tiger Invitational to play at the Grand National Golf Club, March 5-7. 
 
The month will come to an end following events in Humble, Texas for the All- American Intercollegiate on March 20-21 at the Golf Club of Houston and in Gulf Shores, Ala. for the Craft Farms Intercollegiate on March 26-28 at the Craft Farms Golf Resort. 
  
The last regular season event will take place in Raleigh, N.C., for The Stich played at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club at Arlington on April 7-8. 
 
The Sun Belt Conference Championship is scheduled for Annandale Country Club in Jackson, Miss., April 24-27. The winner of the tournament will receive the conference's automatic bid to NCAA Regional play which is scheduled for May 15-17 at six national sites this year. The NCAA Championship will be played at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 26-31.
