ATLANTA – The Georgia State softball team reached extremely high marks academically this past semester, showing that their skill sets extend far beyond the diamond.Â
The overall team GPA was 3.71, the third highest of any team at GSU, and strong enough to earn the team plenty of individual distinctions.Â
Angie Nicholson's squad contained six members of the Honor Roll, fourteen members of the Dean's List, and five members of the President's List, marking a nearly perfect semester for the squad with over 92% of the roster receiving one of the aforementioned academic distinctions.Â
As another season is resigned to the annals of history, this team's academic performance has distinguished them among their fellow athletes and classmates as an exceptional group, worthy of the accolades they receive.Â
GSU Athletics earned a 3.19 GPA for spring 2022, marking the 28th consecutive semester that GSU Athletics has maintained a GPA (semester or cumulative) of 3.0 or higher, dating back to 2008. The spring GPA of 3.19 ties the fourth-highest semester on record for the athletic department.Â
President's List honors (a GPA of 4.0+) were granted to Caroline Brownlee, Skylar Chavez, Carolyn Deady, Jaycee Goodwin, and Bailee Richardson.Â
Dean's List honors (a GPA of 3.5+) were granted to Havalynn Abernathy, Hallie Adams, Gabby Benson, Abby Brown, Emily Brown, Elle Doolittle, Alyssa Giles, Kalynn Hicks, Chloe Middlebrooks, Sophie Mooney, Samara Ortega, Alice Thomas, Sofia Tunon, and Emma Yanes.Â
