Mugnier’s Top 20 Leads Panthers at Tiger Invitational

OPELIKA, Ala. – Maxence Mugnier earned a top 20 finish and the Georgia State men's golf team finished tied for ninth at the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner on Monday.

Mugnier finished his second round on Monday morning, shooting a 3-under 69, before shooting a final round 77 to finish tied for 20^th.

Georgia State, which started the day finishing round two and shooting a 2-under 286, shot a final round 13-over par 301, finishing the 54-hole event at 13-over par and tied with Wichita State.

"For a good part of this tournament, our team showed what they are capable of," head coach Chad Wilson said. "Unfortunately, we just didn't finish strong. Hopefully we can use this as a lesson as we still have a lot of golf to play this season."

Florida Gulf Coast earned a convincing 13-stroke win over host No. 19 Auburn, finishing at 32-under par. Eagle Frankie Capan III ran away with low medalist honors at 19-under par, shooting back-to-back 64's to finish the tournament.
