Women's Tennis Travels to Texas for Matches Against Texas State, UT Arlington

ATLANTA- Coming off a weekend that saw back-to-back shutouts in match play at home for the Panthers, the Georgia State women's tennis team will take a road trip to Texas this weekend for matches facing Sun Belt opponents Texas State and No. 68 UT Arlington. With just three weeks remaining until SBC tournament action begins, head coach Hannah Keeling and the Panthers enter April with high hopes and four regular-season conference matches slated for the month of competition.

The Panthers posted a sweep in consecutive outings last weekend as the team blanked conference foes Louisiana and ULM. With an unbeaten 4-0 record on the weekend, senior Eva Chivu was named Sun Belt women's tennis Player of the Week for her performance in each match at singles No. 1 and doubles No. 3.

With Angel Carney extending her undefeated streak to 13 straight victories over the weekend, the junior approaches the school record for total individual wins in a season. Set by Kristin Rehse in 2018, the season best currently stands at 18.

Improving to 12-5 and 5-1 in conference play with last weekend's victories, GSU also nears the school record for most wins in a regular season at 16, as well as most overall wins at 17. Each of the season best records were set in 2005.

GSU arrives in San Marcos, Texas to face Texas State on Saturday, April 2. The match will be held at Bobcat Tennis Complex.

In the team's biggest test of the season to date, the Panthers will see a quick turnaround for a battle with No. 68 UT Arlington on Sunday, April 3 at UTA Tennis Center. UTA currently sits at first place in the conference at 16-1 overall and 5-0 in SBC play.

Both matches will have a 10 a.m. ET start time. Information regarding live scoring will be posted to the team's social media accounts leading up to the start of each match.
