Men's Golf Earns Season-Best Finish at Craft Farms Intercollegiate

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Led by sophomore Maxence Mugnier's tie for fourth, the Georgia State men's golf team tied for second place on Tuesday at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate at the Craft Farms Golf Resort.

Mugnier shot a final round 2-under 70 par to finish at 5-under par for the 54-hole event, making six more birdies during the final round. He led the field with 21 birdies, helping the Panthers make 56 during the event, just one behind Southern Illinois for the most in the tournament.

Georgia State shot a final round even par 288 to finish tied with Southern Illinois for second place at 1-over par. Host South Alabama earned the team title at 22-under par, while Jaguar Jack Hearn earned low medalist honors at 13-under par.

"We build a lot of positive momentum this week heading into our final regular season event of the year," head coach Chad Wilson said. "We had three guys finish in the top 25, including Maxence who played well all three days. I hope we can take this momentum right into Augusta this week and then on to the Sun Belt Conference Championship."
