The Georgia State women's track and field team opened the 2022-23 indoor season with a solid performance at the Clemson Opener, highlighted by second-place finishes for Roasche Fluker and
Imani Flanagan.
Fluker, the sophomore jumper, finished second in the triple jump, along wwth a sixth-place showing the long jump. Georgia State had three of the top six in the triple, with
Toni Eason finishing third and
Nyah Brown coming in sixth.
The Panthers took second and third place in the 200 meters, with Flanagan in second, followed by
Maleah Heard.
Zura Shivers took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles and helped GSU to a fifth-place showing in the 4x400 relay.
"Overall, I was very pleased with the performances of the team" head coach Kyle Stevenson said. "We opened up our indoor season faster than ever, and that is a good sign for a successful season. Now, as we approach the winter break, it will be time to build on the momentum and be ready for the next competition in Birmingham on January 13-14."Â
