Jordan Jung Leads Panthers at Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn.– The Panthers traveled to the Blackhorn Club at the Ridges in Jonesborough, Tennessee to compete in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Eastern Tennessee State plays host to the event which takes place on a 7147 yard par 72 course with a field that features strong competition.

Sophomore Jordan Jung led the way for the team in the first round finishing at one-over par. Jung opened the round with a 35 on the front nine and finished with a 38 on the second nine for a final score of 73.

Freshman Hunter Smith and Junior Jake Kephart both sit at three-over par. Kephart and Smith both tied Jung for the best round of the day for the Panthers as Kephart shot a 35 on the front nine and Smith shot the same on the back nine.

The Panthers will look to move up the leaderboard in this incredibly talented field tomorrow. The team finished at thirteen-over par only two strokes behind Sun-Belt opponent Coastal Carolina.

East Tennessee State leads the field at 11-under par, while their own Algot Kleen opened the event with a 6-under par 66.

Schedule: The tournament will continue tomorrow with 18 holes with players teeing off on both the first and tenth hole. Tee times will begin for the Panthers at 10:20 a.m. on Monday.
