ATLANTA – After 36 holes of golf the Panthers closed the day out at 7-over par and only six shots back of the lead. The team opened the day with a round one score of 299 and improved by fifteen strokes on the second nine to finish with a 583 overall. A strong team performance that will help build momentum heading into the final round.
Jake Kephart led the way for the Panthers and finished with a total of 1-under par on the day. After shooting a round one 76, Kephart ended the second round with a career best 67. Kephart finished the second round with seven birdies and only two bogies.
Jordan Jung was another key member of today's performance as his total of 1-over par is good enough to place him in the top 15. A round one score of 73 and round two score of 72 will set Jung up well to climb the leaderboard.
"Pleased with having the lowest second round score that allowed us to get back in a position to win the event. Ultimately, the mistakes on the greens have really cost us, but hopefully we can clean that up for 18 holes tomorrow. Keep giving ourselves looks for birdie will be the key." head coach
Chad Wilson said.
The Panthers sit only a few strokes back of the lead and will look to move to the top of the field tomorrow with tee times beginning at 8am.
