Track & Field Heads to Houston This Weekend

ATLANTA – The Georgia State Indoor Track & Field team will return to action this weekend traveling Houston, Texas, for the H-Town Speed Series.
 
The Panthers are now less than a month away from the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship and will have just one more meet remaining after this weekend's action.
 
Action gets underway on Friday at 3 p.m. ET, and 1 p.m. ET on Saturday.
 
Teams competing this weekend include host Houston, Lamar, Houston Baptist, Rice, Tennessee State, Sam Houston State, UTSA, Georgia State, Southern, UTRGV, and Prairie View.

In the latest USTFCCCA regional rankings, Georgia State is currently ranked No. 18 out of 41 teams in the South Region. Jaeda Hunt is No. 35 in the nation in long jump (top 16 qualify for indoor nationals), while Imani Flanagan is currently top 10 in the 400m in the South Region. Georgia State's DMR team is also ranked in the top 20 nationally after the first week of rankings.

Georgia State earned multiple top 5 finishes at the Vanderbilt Invitational last weekend highlighted by the 4000m DMR team of Emma Devis, Morgan Manley, Anouk Prop, and Marine Garnier finishing in third place. Jaeda Hunt also broke the invitational record in the long jump before finishing in second place.

Following this weekend's events, Georgia State will have a week off before returning to action traveling to Birmingham, Ala., for the Bulldog Invite and the Bulldog Open hosted by Samford Feb. 11-12.
