Panthers Track and Field Shows Improvement in First Meet of Season

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Georgia State opened the indoor track and field season off with a strong showing at the Clemson Opener.

Among the best performances for the Panthers were Imani Flanigan finishing 2nd in the 400m, Morgan Manley finishing 3rd in the 600m.
Georgia State had four top-ten finishes in the 60m hurdles prelims; Simone Harper (3rd), Zyra Shivers (5th), Jordan Braswell (6th), and Kaylie Williams (8th). All of these finishes were good enough to advance to the finals, where Harper finished 4th, Braswell finished 6th, and Shivers finished 7th.

Jaeda Hunt finished 5th in the long jump.

Ashanti Tigner placed 6th in the 60m dash which was good enough to advance to the finals, where she again placed 6th

GSU's  "A" team finished 6th overall in the 4x400m.

The Panthers are next in action on January 14th, once again at Clemson, in the Clemson Invite and in Birmingham, Ala., at the UAB Blazer Invite.
