Men's Golf Tied for Third at Paintbrush Invitational

PARKER, Colo. – Shooting an opening round 8-over 296, the Georgia State men's golf team stood in a tie for third following the opening round of the Paintbrush Invitational at Colorado Golf Club on Monday.

Round 2 was suspended due to darkness and will be concluded Tuesday morning before the final round gets underway.

Sophomore Maxence Mugnier and freshman Jordan Jung led the Panthers in the first round each shooting 73's which had the duo tied for 12^th place.

Host Denver held the first-round lead at 2-over par, just six strokes ahead of Georgia State which was tied with BYU. BYU's Zach Jones, competing as an individual, held the individual lead following a 68 at 4-under par.

Monday Start: The tournament will continue Tuesday morning as the teams conclude Round 2. Round 3 is scheduled to begin immediately at the conclusion of Round 2. Teams will utilize a shotgun start at 10:45 a.m. ET/8:45 a.m. PT.
