Jung Top 10 as Men's Golf Stands Seventh at Pinetree Intercollegiate

KENNESAW, Ga. – Freshman Jordan Jung shot rounds of 71 and 73 to stand at even par and tied for ninth place after 36 holes of the Pinetree Intercollegiate at Pinetree Country Club on Monday.

Jung made six birdies and an eagle over 36 holes and is just four strokes out of second place entering the final round on Tuesday.

Georgia State shot rounds of 295 and 299 on Monday and are tied with Western Kentucky for seventh place. The Panthers are just eight strokes outside the top four with 18 holes to play.

"We made a good amount of birdies today and even three eagles, but unfortunately also made too many big numbers and it cost us," head coach Chad Wilson said. "If we can clean those things up on Tuesday, I feel like we can put together a pretty good round and climb some spots on the leaderboard."

Host Kennesaw State along with Sun Belt Conference foe Arkansas State share the lead at 2-over par. Kennesaw State's Takafumi Shimoji leads all individuals at 7-under par.
