Trio of Panthers Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Clinton, Luque, Rosenwald recognized for performance on and off the field

ATLANTA – Kyle Clinton, Logan Luque and Frank Rosenwald of Georgia State men's soccer have been selected to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District team, the organization announced.

All three student-athletes have excelled on the pitch and in the classroom this year, as each player owns a cumulative grade point average above 3.5 and have been vital pieces to Georgia State's success this season.

Clinton, a senior defender from Havant, England, anchors a GSU back line that has recorded five shutouts this season, the second-most among all teams in the Sun Belt Conference, including a shutout road victory over No. 10 Charlotte in mid-October. He owns a 3.74 GPA while majoring in exercise science and has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic-District team in back-to-back years.

Luque, a sophomore midfielder from Bonaire, Ga., has appeared in 14 matches and made eight starts for the Panthers this year, scoring a goal in GSU's 4-2 win over UAB in October. The 2019 Preseason All-Sun Belt honoree has been named to the President's List in consecutive semesters and has obtained a 4.20 GPA while majoring in computer science.

Rosenwald, a senior forward from Exeter, England, ranks inside the top-10 of the Sun Belt in both goals scored (4) and total points (10) and leads all GSU strikers with a .619 shot on goal percentage this season. He has garnered CoSIDA Academic All-District team honors for the second time in his career and owns a 3.63 GPA while majoring in psychology.

The 2019 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

Georgia State men's soccer (9-4-3) rounds out the regular season with a road match against Appalachian State Saturday night on ESPN+.
