  • Senior Josh Edgar led the Panthers on the final day with a 2-under par 70, one of two members of the team to shoot under par on Sunday.
  • The Panthers were playing in their fourth and final event of the fall. After closing the fall in the Caribbean, they will open the spring doing the same in Puerto Rico.

NASSAU, Bahamas – Led by a 2-under 70 from senior Josh Edgar, the Georgia State men's golf team shot a final round even par 288 to finish in 13th place at the inaugural White Sands Invitational at the Ocean Club.

Edgar made six birdies during the final round and finished the 54-hole event at 4-over par and tied for 61st.

Fellow senior Ashton Poole led the Panthers with a tie for 40th at even par, shooting a 2-over 74 in the final round.

Georgia State finished the three-day event at 8-over par after rounds a 292 on the first two days.

"I was glad to see we played some better golf today," head coach Chad Wilson said. "We didn't make a single big number all day and made a bunch of birdies, we just made a few too many bogeys. We will now go into the offseason and work on some things to be prepared to make a run at conference in the spring."

Senior Egill Gunnarsson shot a final round 1-under par 71 to finish the three-day event at 2-over par and tied for 52nd. Junior Owen Sertl added a 1-over par 73 on Sunday to finish at 5-over par and tied for 66th, while sophomore David Li shot a 2-over 74 and tied for 73rd at 9-over par.

No. 39 Houston shot a final round 12-under par 276 to finish at 31-under par and earn a seven-stroke win. Florida State finished in second-place at 24-under par, with No. 22 Arkansas coming in third-place at 22-under par. No. 1 Wake Forest finished in fourth-place at 21-under par with No. 46 UAB rounding out the top five at 20-under par.

Wake Forest's Parker Gillam shot a final round 6-under par 66 to finish at 17-under par for the event and earn a three-stroke win. Northern Illinois' Jordan Less finished in second-place at 14-under par, with Houston's Luke Long coming in third-place at 13-under par. Illinois State's David Perkins and Arkansas' Julian Perico tied for fourth-place at 10-under par.
