ATLANTA -- Georgia State downed Georgia Highlands 12-2 in a 10-inning fall exhibition game Saturday at the GSU Baseball Complex.
Ten Panther pitchers threw one inning each and combined to strike out 15, while junior first baseman
Ryan Glass drove in three runs with a single and a sacrifice fly to lead the offense. Freshman outfielder-first baseman
Kyle Riesselmann added a two-run single.
"It was a great job day as we started to implement our philosophy and how we are going to play the game," first-year head coach
Brad Stromdahl said. "We threw the ball in the strike zone, we had a really good approach at the plate and we played good defense. Overall it was a great day for Georgia State baseball."
Although the Panthers only had seven hits, they made the most of their opportunities to score 12 runs.
"We are able to do some things, running, stealing and bunting and just kind of playing the short game we need to play. It's team offense," Stromdahl said.
Georgia State will conclude fall practice next week. The 2020 season opener is set for Friday, Feb. 14 vs. Cincinnati.
