ATLANTA - Georgia State's indoor track and field team competes in its first event of 2017 Saturday at Clemson's Orange and Purple Classic in Clemson, S.C.
Georgia State will be going up against competitors from Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Florida in what will be a good measure for the Panthers. GSU hasn't competed at Clemson since the Orange and Purple Classic on Dec. 1, 2012. The Panthers recorded two first-place finishes that year.
The Panthers are coming off a first-place team finish at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker that opened the 2016-17 season on Dec. 2. LaPorscha Wells won both the Shot Put and Weight Throw, beating her own school record in the Weight Throw by two feet.
