* The Georgia State men's golf team shot a final round 303 to finish 12th the inaugural Maui Jim Invitational in Scottsdale, Ariz., at Mirabel Golf Club.
* Junior Alex Herrmann shot a final round 74 to finish tied for 36th to lead the Panthers.
* LSU shot a final round 14-under 270 to finish at 41-under par to earn the team victory. LSU's Luis Gagne shot a final round 66 to earn low medalist honors at 17-under par.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Georgia State shot a final round 303 to finish 20-over par and in 12th place in the inaugural Maui Jim Invitational at Mirabel Golf Club. Junior Alex Herrmann led the Panthers with a final round 74 to finish tied for 36th.
LSU shot a 14-under 270 on Sunday to earn a five-stroke win over Baylor after shooting a three-round total 41-under. Baylor finished at 36-under, followed by Kent State in third at 24-under. Kansas finished fourth at 15-under, while South Carolina rounded out the top five at 13-under.
LSU's Luis Gagne shot a final round 66 to finish at 17-under par and earn a two-stroke win. South Carolina's Scott Stevens finished second at 15-under following a 66. Baylor's Garrett May finished third at 12-under, while teammates Hunter Shattuck and Braden Bailey tied for fourth at 11-under.
Herrmann made three birdies during the final round.
“Unfortunately, we got off to a really slow start today and were never really able to rebound,” head coach Joe Inman said. “We played better on the back nine, but still didn't make enough birdies to overcome the deficit we built on the front nine.
“On behalf of everyone at Georgia State, we would like to thank Mirabel Golf Club, Maui Jim, all of the sponsors, volunteers and support staff for putting on an incredible event. We also have to thank all of the members were so supportive of this first year event.”
Senior Nathan Mallonee shot a final round 4-over 75 to finish the 54-hole event at 4-over par and tied for 44th.
Sophomore Nick Budd also shot 75 on Sunday to finish tied for 52nd at 6-over par, making birdies on two of his final three holes.
Junior Max Herrmann and sophomore Nathan Williams each shot a final round 79. Williams tied for 59th at 8-over par, while Herrmann tied for 90th at 19-over par.
Freshman Josh Edgar, making his collegiate debut, shot a 75 on Sunday to finish 11-over par and tied for 71st.
Georgia State will return home to host the sixth annual AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic at Berkeley Hills Country Club Oct. 16-18.
