Rasolomalala Clinches Another Match for Panthers

ATLANTA – No. 46 Georgia State is now 11-5 (3-0) following the team's 4-3 victory over Troy University. The Trojans were 11-5 entering today's competition with their only conference loss coming against South Alabama.

GSU won a tightly contested doubles point to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Linn Timmermann and Tarani Kamoe continued their run as the Panthers most dominant duo, winning 6-1 in the number one positon.

Chiara Volejnicek and Daniela Ramirez won 7-5 on court three to secure the doubles point. This victory pushed the pair's winning streak to four in doubles competition.

In singles competition, Daniela Ramirez won 6-2, 6-1 on court six before the Trojans tied the match 2-2 with early wins on courts four and five.

Linn Timmermann dropped her first set 2-6 on court one before rallying to win the next two sets 6-1, 6-0, giving Georgia State the 3-2 lead.

Niri Rasolomalala clinched the match for the Panthers for the second match in a row on court three. She won 6-2, 6-4 against Troy's Hannah Seizer.

After the match had been clinched, Kristin Rehse fell 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) on court two in the most tightly contested match of the afternoon.

Georgia State will be back in action Sunday against No. 43 South Alabama at 2 p.m. at GSU – Clarkston.
