After opening the 54-hole even with rounds of 67 and 69 on Monday, Budd needed to make par on his final hole to secure the one stroke win. His three-round total of 204 is tied for the fifth-lowest mark in school history. He became the 18th Panther to win an individual title in the program's history. He made six birdies in each round.

Georgia State shot its second 285 of the tournament to move up two spots up the leaderboard and finish the two-day event at 5-under par.

“Nick played absolute incredible golf over the last two days,” head coach Joe Inman said. “He remained steady the entire time and stepped up for us when we really needed him. Something tells me this is just the first of many titles for Nick.”
