Richmond, Va. - The Georgia State women's tennis team (4-11, 2-1 CAA) dropped a conference match to No. 24 VCU (14-3, 3-0 CAA), 6-1, on Saturday afternoon. Georgia State returns to action on April 4th when they travel to Mobile, Ala. to take on South Alabama for their final regular season match of the season.
Sophomore Diana Nakic, ranked 28th nationally, continues her perfect season after defeating Josefin Hjertquist, 6-1, 6-4. Nakic is 15-0 overall and still has yet to surrender a set to her opponents.
In doubles play the Panthers lost all three matches to lose the doubles point. The team of Diana Nakic/Linda Hricistova lost a close match, 8-7, in a tie-breaker.
After a tough victory yesturday, the Panthers seemed out of gas in singles play. Georgia State will look to rebound from this defeat by getting ready for South Alabama on April 4th in Mobile, Ala.
