Women's Tennis Falls to ETSU, 4-3

Bristol, Tennessee - GSU (0-4) lost a tough match against East Tennessee State (2-2), 4-3, on Sunday afternoon inside the Bristol Racquet and Fitness Club. The match lasted nearly six hours before the Buccaneers came away with the win against the No. 57 ranked Panthers.

Georgia State earned victories at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 singles to put the pressure on East Tennessee State. Sophomore Diana Nakic, ranked No. 42, still has yet to lose a set in four matches. Nakic defeated Yevgenyia Stupak, 6-4, 6-3 to improve to 4-0 in singles play.

Junior Katerina Gresova defeated Karina Kedzo in a three-set match, 3-6, 7-6, 6-2, to earn her first singles win of the 2010 season.

The difference in the match was in doubles play as Nakic/Linda Hricistova lost to Stupak/Kelly Holzhausen, 8-5. The Panthers came up just short again in back-to-back matches of 4-3 defeats.

Georgia State returns on Friday when they travel to Starkville, Mississippi to take on Mississippi State at 11 a.m.
