Atlanta, Ga. - The Georgia State men's soccer team announces the signing of CJ Cochran, who signed a national letter of intent to play soccer in 2010 for Georgia State. Head Coach Kerem Daser is excited to welcome his first signee of the 2010 season:
CJ Cochran (Alpharetta, Ga Alpharetta HS): Cochran is a skilled goalkeeper coming from Alpharetta, Ga. Cochran has received multiple awards during his prep time including the 2008-2009 R3PL Most Valuable Player, 2009 Super Y North American Finals All Tournament team, and 2009 Alpharetta HS Most Valuable Player.
"We are very excited that CJ will be joining our team this coming fall. CJ is one of the top keepers in the south region. He is a keeper I have known for many years. CJ's club and keeper coach is Gaucho Pinho. Coach Gaucho was the Georgia State keeper coach for five years...Gaucho has done a great job in developing CJ. CJ's u18 Forsyth Fusion club team last fall won the region 3 premier league," said head coach Kerem Daser.
CJ comes to Georgia State after playing on multiple championship teams including Super Y South Atlantic Division champs (2005-2009), R3PL Champions (2009), and a two-time Norcross Nike Cup Champion (2009, 2004).
"CJ is an outstanding shot blocker who has improved every year. He has an outstanding work effort and physically gifted as a keeper. He is ready for the next level and he is hungry to get to training next year. I love the fact that CJ committed to Georgia State early- Georgia State has always been his number one choice. Our coaching staff is very excited to have CJ join our panther soccer family," said Daser.
The Georgia State men's soccer team is getting ready for spring practice soon and preparations for the 2010 season has already begun.
