Georgia State men's golf wrapped up the SunTrust Gator Invitational with their best score of the event, a 297 (+17), thanks in part to senior Tom Sherreard's final round 71 (+1) at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. Sunday.

The Panthers finished 14th with a final tally of 300-304-297-901 (+61). Sherreard's 75-76-71-222 (+12), for a share of 36th, marked the team's best individual finish.

Junior Brent Paul posted the team's second-best final round, a 73 (+3), to improve dramatically over his opening 36. Paul finished the tournament in 69th with scores of 81-80-73-234 (+24).

Junior Alex Castro posted the team's second-best finish, a tie for 45th, after a final scorecard of 72-76-76-224 (+14).

Junior Alan Fowler finished 51st one shot behind Castro. Sophomore Jared Cagle tied for 72nd at +29.

Host Florida successfully defended their title, posting a +1 team score to win by 18 shots. Mississippi's Jonathan Randolph fired a final round 67 to earn the individual title by a stroke.

After playing their second event in as many weeks, the Panthers earn some much needed rest before returning to the course on March 1 at UNC Wilmington's Landfall Invitational.
