HOT SPRINGS, Va. (April 21, 2007) -- The Georgia State men's golf team dropped back to third after a second round total of 290 at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships at The Homestead (Cascades Golf Club). The Panthers are six shots out of first-place entering the final round.

Old Dominion jumped into first-place after a second round of 281. VCU sits in second-place and is five shots out of first-place.

"It was a tough day on the greens for us," said head coach Matt Clark. "I am proud of Joel for firing back with a 69, and we will just have to try to make a run tomorrow."

Junior Joel Sjoholm and sophomore Mark Haastrup are tied for third-place entering the final. Sjoholm and Haastrup are five shots out of first place. Sjoholm fired a second round total of 69 and Haastrup ended with a 73.

Senior Ben Taylor is tied for seventh-place after a second round of 72. Freshman Tom Sherreard is tied for 26th-place after a second round of 76. Senior Derek Oakey is tied for 30th-place after a second round of 77.

The Panthers will tee off at 11:11 p.m. for the final round of the CAA Championships and are paired with Old Dominion and VCU.
