EVANS, Ga. (March 30, 2007) -- The Georgia State men's golf team opened the first round of the Administaff Augusta State Invitational with a 2-over team total of 290, good enough for fifth place. Freshman Tom Sherreard fired a 2-under round of 70 and sits in tie for 10th-place to lead the Panthers.
Sophomore Mark Haastrup ended at even-par 72 and is tied for 16th-place. Senior Derek Oakey finished with a 1-over 73 and is tied for 27th-place. Senior Ben Taylor ended the day with a 75 and is tied for 52nd-place. Junior Joel Sjoholm finished with a 76 and is tied for 64th-place.
The second round of the Administaff Augusta State Invitational will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday with the final round on Sunday.
