EL PASO, TEXAS (Nov. 20, 2006) -- Georgia State sophomore golfer Mark Haastrup sits tied for 15th-place at the Western Refining College All-American Golf Classic after two rounds of 69 and 71.
Haastrup opened the tournament firing a 69 and sat in fourth place after the first round. Haastrup recorded four birdies and two bogeys to finish at 2-under par to open the tournament.
Haastrup was poised to make a run in the second round and came out firing with five birdies and one bogey through 16 holes. He was at 4-under for his second round before he hit trouble in the final two holes where he carded two double-bogeys to finish at even par. Haastrup fell back to 15th as many of the other competitors carded low rounds in second round.
Vanderbilt's Luke List leads the tournament at 11-under par and set a new tournament record when he opened the tournament with a 62.
The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday morning at the El Paso Country Club.
