Men's Golfer Steve Tiley Named To PING Southeast All-Region Team

NORMAN, OKLA. – Georgia State men's golfer Steve Tiley was named to the PING Southeast All-Region Team on Tuesday, May 31 as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. It marks the third time a Panther golfer has been named to the PING All-Region Team. Senior Ty Harris and former standout Kasper Jorgensen garnered the honors in 2003 and 2004, respectively.

The nine PING All-Region teams are comprised of 15 golfers each and are ranked in the top-75 nationally in either Golfstat or the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Highlighting the list are three PING First-Team All-America honorees from 2004, plus 28 others who made either the second, third or honorable mention teams. Members of the PING All-Region teams are eligible for PING All-America honors.

Tiley, a junior from Canterbury, England, is currently ranked 43rd in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings with a 70.92 rating. He also leads the Panthers with a 71.44 stroke average and has won two tournaments in his first season at Georgia State with seven finishes in the top-25. Tiley and the No. 21 Panthers are making their second straight and third overall appearance at the NCAA Championships this week in Owings Mills, Md. at Caves Valley Golf Club. Georgia State will look to best their 11th-place finish at last year's NCAA Championships under second year head coach Matt Clark.
