Georgia State Falls at Georgia Tech Tuesday

Box Score ATLANTA - Georgia State fell at Georgia Tech 7-0 in their second match of the season. 

The Panthers fought through close doubles competition, but the Jackets took the doubles point. The pair Andreea Stanescu and Alba Retortillo fell in a close tie-breaker on court No. 1, 7-6. On court No. 3, junior Pragnya Kumar and freshman Sara Radojevic went unfinished in their match, tied at 6-6. 

Georgia Tech took all points across the board in singles play, leading them to win the match 7-0. Retortillo played on court No. 2, falling to opponent 6-4, 6-0. Freshman Sveva Bernardi played her first match of the season on court No. 6, falling 6-0, 6-3. 

Stanescu battled on court No. 3 but fell short, ending the match 6-4, 6-1. Freshmen Francesca Miglio and Radojevic also fell to their opponents on courts 4 and 5. Maria Paredes lost by retirement in the second set, after falling 6-0 in the first set. 

The Panthers are back in action Feb. 2 as they head to Boca Raton, Fla. to face DePaul.
