Tellis, Morris, Devis Named Academic All-District®

ATLANTA – Georgia State track and field student-athletes, Camarii Tellis, Kennedy Morris, and Emma Devis have been named to the 2023 Academic All-District® Track and Field Team, selected by College Sports Communications.
 
The Academic All-District® Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees are now eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® team, which will be announced in late June.
 
Tellis, a junior from Milwaukee, Wis., was named to the President's List after earning a 4.0 GPA this spring semester. The film and media major is scheduled to earn her bachelor's degree this summer. Tellis was a member of the 4x100 relay team that earned three medals this spring, including a first-place finish at the UNF River City Spring Break Classic. During the indoor season, Tellis also earned a second-place finish in the 60m finals (7.65) at the Carolina Challenge.
 
Morris, a sophomore from Marietta, Ga., earned a 3.71 GPA this spring semester while working towards a bachelor's in psychology. The middle-distance runner placed first and set the school record in the 600m (1:33.19) at the Florida University Invitational. Morris earned two other medals in the 600m throughout the year. She also ran the first leg for the 4x800m team that placed first at the Emory Spring Break Classic. The sophomore, who competed in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track, wrapped up her 2022-23 campaign at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships, placing fifth in the 800m finals.
 
Devis, a graduate student from Anzin-Saint-Aubin, France, posted a 4.0 GPA this spring semester earning a spot on the President's List.  She finished eighth and set a new personal best in the 1000m at the Clemson Opener (2:58.61). Devis anchored the 4x800m relay team that placed first at the Emory Spring Break Classic. In 2022 Devis was crowned a Sun Belt Conference champion and named All-Sun Belt in the Distance Medley Relay. She had back-to-back top five finishes in the 1500m at the 2022 and 2021Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships.
