Strickland Paces Panthers at Sun Belt Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. -- Senior Ari Acuff was the top finisher for the Georgia State women's golf team at the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Championships, which concluded Tuesday at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Panthers finished ninth in the team standings, finishing with a 54-hole total of 910 (+46) on the Par 72, 6,134-yard layout on the Hills Course at LPGA International.

Acuff, the senior from Springfield, Mo., shot 75 today, highlighted by an eagle on the Par-5 second hole. She finished with an 8-over 224 to tie for 16th place in the individual standings.

Senior Kelly Strickland also had a top-25 showing. She shot 76 today to finish at 226 (+10), tied for 24th place. 

In the team competition, ULM and Texas State were tied after 54 holes, and the Warhawks won the Sun Belt title in a two-hole playoff. Leah Onosato of Old Dominion was the individual medalist with a 2-under 214.
