Leveau Leads Panthers at Tchefuncta Invitational

COVINGTON, LA. -- Led by a top 10 finish by Mahina Leveau, the Georgia State women's golf team finished sixth at the Tchefuncta Collegiate Invitational at Tchefuncta Country Club.

The Panthers had their best round of the tournament with a 298 on Tuesday's final 18 on the Par 71, 6044-yard layout, finishing with a 54-hole score of 906. Host South Alabama fired a 290 Tuesday to win by two strokes (885) over Southern Miss.

Leveau shot a 2-over 73 on Tuesday to finish in tie for ninth place with an 11-over 224.

Kelly Strickland was two strokes behind Leveau to finish tied for 11th. Ari Acuff also shot 73 today to place 16th.

The next event for the Panthers is the Bama Beach Bash, March 19-21 at Gulf Shores, Ala.
