Women's Golf Stands 6th After Day 1 at Tchefuncta Invitational

COVINGTON, LA. -- The Georgia State women's golf teams stands in sixth place after two rounds at the Tchefuncta Collegiate Invitational at Tchefuncta Country Club.

The Panthers improved by eight shots in the second round for a 36-hole total of 608, 25 shots behind leader Southern Miss on the Par 71, 6044- yard layout.

Kelly Strickland shot the Panthers' best round of the day with a 2-over par 73 in the second round. She and teammate Mahina Leveau are tied for 11th place at nine over. They are 15 strokes behind individual leader Yedam Lee of Toledo who is at six under par after a pair of 68s.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes Tuesday.
